Head of Legal Department

You will build up the newly created Legal Competence Center, thereby strengthening WAS as a future-oriented, effective, and service-oriented social insurance organization. WAS Wirtschaft Arbeit Soziales is the Lucerne center for social insurance. The organization unites the business areas Ausgleichskasse, IV, wira, and Services under one roof and provides important services for the population, the economy, and the public sector. As part of the strategic realignment, the legal services are being bundled into a single department. This creates a demanding leadership task with genuine scope for development and design, high professional relevance, and a direct impact on the organization. As Head of Legal Department, 80--100 %, you will take responsibility for the newly created department with around 30 lawyers. You will directly lead three team leaders as well as the secretariat, develop sustainable structures, clear processes, and effective cooperation. Together with your team, you will ensure efficient and high-quality processing of objections and appeals. At the same time, you will position the Legal Department as a competent, service-oriented, and future-oriented specialist unit within WAS. You will drive the further development of the department in line with the strategy of WAS Luzern and advise the Services business area management as well as the executive management on legal issues. You hold a university degree in law with a bar admission and bring leadership experience in a legally oriented environment. You are experienced in social insurance law and also bring openness to adjacent legal areas such as data protection, public personnel law, and organization-related issues. As a reflective and reliable leader, you provide orientation, build trust, and shape change processes constructively.
