Together with its affiliated organizations, it defends the interests of workers on political, economic and [social] levels and we are looking for, for 1 January 2027 or another date to be agreed, an Economist (80 -- 100 %) ---------------------------- As a member of the USS central secretariat, you are responsible for economic policy files for the USS. In this capacity, you develop positions, closely monitor legislative procedures and consultation procedures, and represent the USS within extra-parliamentary commissions, before Parliament and the administration, as well as in the public sphere. You are also likely to represent the USS within international bodies. You hold a university degree in political economy and benefit from several years of professional experience. You possess in-depth knowledge of federal politics and the trade union world. Working within organizational bodies is familiar to you and you enjoy creating and maintaining professional networks. Your solid expertise in political economy and your vast practical experience with quantitative methods allow you to handle even complex economic issues promptly and with confidence. You familiarize yourself quickly with new subjects and know how to defend the interests of employees with conviction. You succeed in asserting yourself and motivating others. You are able to express yourself precisely and in a structured manner in French or German, with good knowledge of the other language being required. Furthermore, your mastery of English allows you to conduct negotiations within the framework of your international files.
