Primary Function of Position:

The Director, Cardiac Surgery – Worldwide Indirect is responsible for developing and scaling Intuitive’s cardiac surgery ecosystem across global indirect markets. This position serves as the commercial and strategic leader for cardiac surgery within the Worldwide Indirect organization and partners closely with distributor organizations, regional leadership, marketing, training, clinical affairs, product management, and global cardiac teams. The role serves as a multiplier by connecting global expertise, developing local capabilities, and enabling distributors and Key Opinion Leaders to build durable cardiac programs that improve patient outcomes and create sustainable growth.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the Worldwide Indirect cardiac strategy in collaboration with Global Distribution leadership.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, society leaders, and influential institutions.
  • Establish and expand Centers of Excellence and Intuitive Cardiac Institutes of Learning (ICILs).
  • Partner closely with Global Distribution Directors and distributor leadership to support cardiac market development.
  • Educate and coach distributor organizations on cardiac program development and ecosystem readiness.
  • Facilitate collaboration among global cardiac thought leaders and promote cross-country sharing of best practices.
  • Collaborate with Global Programs, Marketing, Clinical Affairs, Professional Education, and Product Management teams.
  • Support Voice of Customer activities and provide feedback to product development teams.
  • Represent Intuitive as a speaker and subject matter expert at conferences and customer

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (science, business, or related field).
  • 15+ years of experience in the medical device industry.
  • 4+ years of international commercial leadership experience including Asia-Pacific markets.
  • Strong understanding of the da Vinci cardiac surgery ecosystem and training pathways.
  • Experience supporting KOL development, Centers of Excellence, and cardiac program expansion.
  • Proven ability to translate global strategies into operational frameworks supporting regional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across regions and cultures with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage complexity and support multiple regional leaders simultaneously.
  • Extensive international travel up to 60%.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Master’s degree preferred (Business, International Business, or related field).
  • Cardiac clinical, commercial operations, marketing, or sales experience preferred.
  • Experience leading through matrix organizations and indirect reporting relationships.

Compensation will be based primarily on the job level at which the role is filled and the candidate’s qualifications, consistent with applicable law.
