What you can achieve

• You are responsible for the engineering, further development, and operation of our on-prem vanilla Kubernetes clusters (Talos) as well as the Linux environment and ensure stability, security, and up-to-dateness
• You plan and execute Kubernetes upgrades, releases, and integrations of platform components and ensure their quality with tests, monitoring, and SLO analyses
• You develop system-oriented automations, tools, controllers, and operators in Go and drive the continuous improvement of the platform forward
• You analyze and resolve complex disturbances in operations and on-call duty and use observability tools such as Grafana and Splunk for this purpose
• You evaluate new technologies, make technical architecture decisions, and further develop the tech stack in areas such as Ingress, Storage, and Observability
• You work with Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, and GitOps, advise internal stakeholders on integrations, and engage actively in open-source communities and projects

What you bring with you

• Completed basic training in informatics supplemented by a higher technical college
• Very good knowledge of Kubernetes and Linux as well as sound experience with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines
• Enjoyment of deep-dive sessions and the detailed analysis of complex technical problems with a focus on sustainable solutions in the team
• Holistic thinking and the ability to view technical challenges from architecture through engineering and operation to monitoring and observability
• Rapid familiarization with new technologies and complex technical subject areas as well as independent processing of new questions
• Experience or interest in the tech stack with a focus on Cilium, ArgoCD, GitLab, Grafana, Debian/Talos/RHEL, and Vault
• Interest in cloud technologies and Amazon EKS as well as motivation to expand know-how in this area
• Business-fluent German and English skills in spoken and written form
