Objective of the function
The Loader / Spetter supports the driver in the safe, efficient and customer-oriented execution of municipal waste collections. He ensures the professional loading of all waste fractions, guarantees safety in road traffic during collection operations and supports the municipal works yard (Werkhof) with general maintenance and winter service work including on-call duty with municipal vehicles Cat. B.

Refuse collection

• Professional loading of refuse, green, paper, cardboard and other recyclable fractions
• Safe operation of the discharge device and monitoring of the loading process
• Checking for incorrectly provided or unauthorized waste and containers
• Assistance with the cleaning and maintenance of the collection vehicle
• Securing the collection vehicle in road traffic
• Active support of the driver during reversing and difficult maneuvers
• Compliance with SUVA regulations as well as internal safety guidelines
• Consistent wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Cleaning and maintenance of collection points
• General municipal works yard tasks (cleaning, cardboard processing, driving forklifts etc.)

Winter service

• Collaboration in winter service mechanical snow removal
• Readiness for on-call and special assignments

Qualifications

Education

• No completed vocational training required
• Training in the manual/craft sector is an advantage

Physical requirements
The applicant is:

• physically healthy
• physically resilient
• weather-resistant
• Day and night work
• ready to work in all weather conditions
• able to cover long walking distances daily
• able to regularly lift and carry loads up to approx. 25 kg
• fully capable of working

Language skills

• German at least level B2 (oral)
• Understand simple written work instructions
• Understand safety instructions
• Friendly communication with the population

Working hours
Readiness for

• Start of work from approx. 06:00
• Winter service assignments between 4:00 to 24:00
• Seasonal overtime
• On-call duty also on weekends
• Saturday work and Sunday work if required
