Do you want to make an important contribution to the protection of the aquatic habitat? We offer you the chance to do so!

Your tasks

You will work on three major areas:

• Water quality springs: You will participate in the biological and chemical sampling of spring habitats throughout the canton. With professional guidance, you will take over the macrozoobenthos determination from spring habitats, update the spring habitats database, evaluate the eDNA results, and inform specialist offices and the public.
• Temperature loggers: You will install temperature loggers in spring habitats and read them out regularly. In addition, you will help to install fixed temperature measuring stations at selected small water bodies.
• Collaboration in the Water and Soil Protection Laboratory: You will support the team, accompany samplings in water bodies, and be involved in data management, evaluations, and reporting. If interested, you can also implement your own project.

Your profile

• Completed studies in the field of water ecology or a comparable discipline with sound basic knowledge in water ecology
• Interest in and experience with field investigations (driving license Cat. B with driving experience required)
• Enjoyment of water bodies and their protection
• Experience with R, GIS and databases desired
