Production Team Leader Machining

Purpose of the role

The Production Team Coordinator Machining coordinates and manages the operational processes within the Machining production area to ensure timely, high-quality, and economical manufacturing. The role ensures the optimal use of employees, machines, and resources, as well as the continuous improvement of processes, safety, and productivity within the area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the deputy for the Team Leader during absences and ensuring smooth production operations
• Coordination and monitoring of daily production processes in the milling area
• Ensuring compliance with production targets regarding quality, costs, delivery reliability, and occupational safety
• Planning and management of personnel deployment, taking into account capacities and qualifications
• Functional leadership, support, and development of employees within the area of responsibility
• Monitoring and continuous optimization of manufacturing processes as well as identification of improvement potential
• Ensuring compliance with work instructions, quality standards, safety regulations, and 5S guidelines
• Analysis of key figures as well as initiation and follow-up of suitable improvement measures
• Support in the introduction of new products, processes, and manufacturing technologies
• Close cooperation with production planning, engineering, quality assurance, maintenance, and other interface areas
• Escalation management in the event of production deviations as well as coordination of immediate and corrective measures

Qualifications

• Willingness and availability to work in a 2-shift operation
• Very good German skills in speaking and writing; basic knowledge of English for cooperation in an international environment
• Completed technical vocational training as a Polymechaniker EFZ or comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in an industrial production environment, preferably in the field of CNC milling
• Experience in coordinating production teams or in a comparable leadership function
• Sound knowledge of manufacturing and production processes in the field of CNC milling
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement processes, and relevant production key figures
• Good knowledge in the areas of occupational safety, quality, and process stability
• Experience in using ERP systems, preferably D365, as well as good Microsoft Office skills
• Strong leadership and communication skills as well as high problem-solving and decision-making strength
• Structured, independent, and resilient way of working as well as strong team and organizational skills
