We are looking for a chief resident with an FMH title or an assistant chief resident in the process of obtaining their specialist title to join our outpatient child and adolescent psychiatry team within the CAP (Centre ambulatoire de Pédopsychiatrie) of the Réseau de l'Arc, in Switzerland.

In this full-time role, you will work in collaboration with a medico-therapeutic team (child and adolescent psychiatrists, psychologists, nurse(s)) to provide high-quality child and adolescent psychiatry care to our patients.

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Service of the Pôle de Santé Mentale of the Réseau de l'ARC is an ISFM training establishment (currently undergoing recognition for category B) for hospital and outpatient activities.

Job Description ##

Your work consists of evaluating and providing care to children, adolescents aged 0-18 years, and their families in an outpatient setting within the CAP.

The CAP also works in close collaboration with the UHPA (Unité d'hospitalisation Psychiatrique pour Adolescents) and with the emergency department of the Moutier hospital, being able to respond to urgent outpatient consultation requests.

To this end, the missions are as follows:

• Perform child and adolescent psychiatric evaluations and care independently
• Supervision and guidance of the assistant physician and the assistant psychologist, both in training
• Demonstrate capacity for support, management of complex cases in the field, and decision-making and responsibilities incumbent upon a 2nd-line senior physician
• Substitution for the Physician responsible for the site, Referring Chief Physician of the CAP regarding tasks incumbent to the organization of the site and the proper progress of care (child and adolescent psychiatric evaluations, family and network interviews)
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the medico-therapeutic team.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans if necessary
• Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications
• Participate in the outpatient continuity of care system.
• Intervene in case of crisis and provide emergency child and adolescent psychiatric care, if necessary.
• Participate in medico-therapeutic team meetings to discuss patient care.
• Maintain accurate and detailed electronic medical records.
• Participate in the development and implementation of child and adolescent psychiatric protocols and procedures for the outpatient and hospital sectors
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications ##

• Possession of a medical degree or an equivalent title recognized by the Commission fédérale des professions médicales (MEBEKO) is mandatory.
• At least 3 years of assistantship experience is required, including at least 2 years in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy, in addition to complementary year(s) in adult psychiatry or pediatrics
• A proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team is essential.
• A strong commitment to medical training and the dissemination of knowledge is required.
• Capacity for initiative, curiosity, and interest in the implementation of projects.
• Proficiency in the French language at a minimum level of B2 is necessary.
