Senior Project Manager - Mainframe Transformation (CA Gen to Native COBOL)

• IT - Project Management • Zürich • Contracting • Part-time, 80-100% • ASAP - 31.12.2026 with option for extension • Project Management Your tasks: • Overall responsibility for planning, controlling and implementing the Mainframe Transformation project (CA Gen to Native COBOL) • Creation and maintenance of the project management plan, project planning and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) • Setup and control of the project organization, governance and reporting and communication structures • Coordination and control of all internal and external stakeholders, suppliers and project workstreams • Monitoring of project progress, budget, risks, dependencies and quality including Earned Value Management (EVM) • Responsibility for planning and coordinating all test, deployment and release activities • Ensuring Operational Readiness and planning and executing the Go-Live • Creation of status reports, decision-making bases and management reports for Steering Committees and program management • Close collaboration with architecture, infrastructure, development and specialist departments to successfully implement the transformation Your profile: • Several years of experience as a project manager in large IT transformation, migration or modernization projects, experience in the financial industry is an advantage • Proven experience in managing complex projects with numerous internal and external stakeholders • Very good knowledge of established project management methods (PMI, PRINCE2 or similar) • Experience in creating project management plans, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), governance models and detailed project plans • Knowledge of IBM z/OS, COBOL, CA Gen, GitLab or Mainframe modernization projects is an advantage • Experience in budget management, forecasting and financial project controlling • Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) for project control • Experience in risk, issue, change and dependency management • Experience in controlling software development, testing and Go-Live projects • Experience in collaborating with external implementation partners and offshore teams • Pronounced communication and presentation skills up to management and executive level • Fluent in German and English
