Professor of Spatial Development You are a well-networked specialist in Switzerland and enjoy imparting professional competencies in spatial planning to the next generation and designing exciting research projects? Then we are looking for you as of 1. September 2027 or by arrangement as Professor of Spatial Development (70-100%) You impart your knowledge and experience in a practice-oriented and interdisciplinary manner in the Bachelor's degree program in Urban, Transport and Spatial Planning as well as in our Master's degree program in Spatial Development and Landscape Architecture as part of the Master of Science in Engineering, and conduct application-oriented research and consulting at the IRAP Institute for Spatial Development. Professor of Spatial Development Your tasks You teach aspiring planners in spatial planning and impart theory, fundamentals and practice of spatial planning at all levels of government (municipal, cantonal and federal), with a focus on the municipal level You acquire and process externally funded research, development and consulting projects in the field of spatial development as well as related disciplines together with our team of professors and scientific staff You actively participate in the interdisciplinary institute work, especially in the Bachelor's degree program in Urban, Transport and Spatial Planning as well as in the further development of the OST You develop continuing education offers in the field of spatial planning and in related disciplines and design new, practice-relevant offers and provide these on the continuing education market with the IRAP team Your qualification You have a university degree in spatial planning or a comparable discipline You bring many years of practical experience in spatial planning also from outside of universities and colleges and have personally worked on issues of local and area development Ideally, economic experience (e.g. regional economics, real estate industry) rounds off your profile You deal intensively with central future issues of spatial development and have ideas for the further development of the discipline in Switzerland You bring a broad network of contacts in the spatial planning scene and know the challenges from the perspective of the public sector and/or planning offices from your practical work You have sound experience in knowledge transfer We offer An exciting and varied activity with high personal responsibility in interdisciplinary teaching and research teams at an attractive university Freedom for your personal initiative as well as support for your professional and didactic further development An attractive environment with modern infrastructure at the Campus Rapperswil-Jona of the OST, in a central location directly on Lake Zurich and at Rapperswil station Interested?
