Your tasks
Holistic Business Analysis: You understand customer needs deeply and accompany AI projects from PoC to product. You create clear concepts, manage changes, and ensure efficient business understanding at the interface between the specialist department and IT.
Requirements Engineering: You confidently create functional concepts, user stories, and acceptance criteria. You document complex requirements in a structured manner and act as a strong mediator between stakeholders to guarantee viable technical solutions.
AI Platforms & Governance: You bring know-how in data modeling, quality, and regulation. You evaluate AI use cases, derive concepts, and utilize synergies to ensure the implementation of data-driven innovations in accordance with governance requirements.
Automation & Process Optimization: You identify automation potential in complex processes. With data-driven solutions - from classic RPA approaches to modern, agent-based AI systems - you sustainably increase the efficiency of the cantonal administration.
Scalable Product Development: You translate functional wishes into AI products. Through uniform frameworks, you develop scalable solutions such as document generators, chatbots, or search systems that can be used as adaptive base components throughout the entire ecosystem.
Your profile
Experience: Several years of experience in building modern data and AI platforms as well as in analyzing complex requirements. You are proficient in dealing with cloud architectures, DataOps, MLOps, and the development of data-driven products.
Personality: You think customer-oriented, act proactively, and take responsibility. You remain solution-oriented even in complex situations. Strong communication skills, negotiation skills, and true teamwork characterize your way of working.
Education: Higher degree (Uni/FH) in (Business) Informatics or Business Administration. You bring several years of experience in business analysis in the digitalization environment (applications) as well as sound practical experience in agile project methods.
Language: Stylistically confident communication towards a wide variety of customer groups. You formulate precise concepts and present them confidently. Very good German skills are mandatory; good English skills are an advantage.

IT BS is the internal IT service provider for the Canton Basel-Stadt and belongs to the Finance Department. The department provides the collaboration and communication infrastructure for the mobile and stationary IT workstations and the associated support. Additionally, IT BS continuously develops various offerings for the public in the area of eGovernment and digitalization. Functional IT is central to the efficient operation of the cantonal administration. The Cross-sectional Applications department drives digitalization in the Canton Basel-Stadt forward. Our modular ecosystem includes, among others, eGovernment, business administration, the web presence bs.ch, UX/design system, chatbots, as well as low-code, development, AI, and data platforms. As a member of the new cross-functional AI and Process Automation team, you develop solutions that offer real added value to the cantonal administration. Through precise business analyses, you sustainably increase customer satisfaction and thus actively shape the digital future of the canton.
