Your contribution

• Direct the thematic area of DDPS Innovation and guarantee the implementation and further development of DDPS Innovation governance in collaboration with all offices of the department
• Guarantee innovation management within the DDPS General Secretariat as the office's innovation manager, direct the related processes and bodies in the field of ideas and challenges, as well as transfer skills to employees
• Promote the thematic area of innovation within the DDPS and the SG-DDPS and represent interests in the department's bodies and at the Confederation level
• Direct works and working groups related to political mandates, affairs, and issues at the department and office level, focusing on major projects in the sectors of Planning, controlling, digitalization, and DDPS security
• Direct projects, analyze, elaborate and verify complex issues, predict relevant developments and derive bases for action and decisions

What distinguishes you

• University degree in the field of innovation, digitalization, economics, politics or equivalent training
• Training and experience in the thematic field of innovation
• Experience in the field of political processes in the Confederation and interest in political texts/content
• Good knowledge in the thematic areas of digitalization, controlling, strategy, and security
• Experience in project management and in the preparation of reports and decision-making bases
• Excellent written and oral expression skills and good knowledge of at least a second official language and, if possible, passive knowledge of a third official language

You will actively shape the innovative future of the DDPS and the DDPS General Secretariat and contribute significantly to making the DDPS an innovative, learning, and future-oriented organization. Occupying this key role, you will deal with the strategic bases and the permanent further development of the innovation thematic area. You will promote the innovation capacity of employees and the culture necessary for this purpose, guarantee cross-sectoral collaboration, and favor the implementation of innovations and ideas.
Thanks to your understanding of complex connections and processes, you will guarantee sound and high-quality decision-making bases and documents in the field of the department's political affairs and, with your structured way of working, will provide support to the Office Management and the Department Management.

The DDPS General Secretariat is the actual staff organization of the department. It assists the head of the department in his role as a member of the Federal Council and in the management of the DDPS, elaborates the political strategy as well as the directives for the administrative units and supports and controls their implementation. Furthermore, it provides planning, controlling and coordination at the department level in the cross-cutting sectors Personnel, Finance, Law and IT as well as in the sectors Security Policy and Territory and environment.
