Your mission

• Lead and develop the team: Lead your team professionally and disciplinarily, set clear objectives, develop employees through feedback and coaching, and recruit new talent in collaboration with HR.
• Strengthen trust and the learning culture: Create an environment open to questions, mistakes, and different perspectives; resolve conflicts constructively and ensure sustainable work.
• Define priorities and planning: Translate development objectives into clear priorities and realistic planning. Make risks and dependencies visible, and coordinate capacities, resource needs, and bottlenecks.
• Contribute to architecture and software implementation: Support requirements analysis, architectural, and technology decisions. Coordinate the creation of rule models and their implementation in the software as well as the development of modern reusable C++ components for medical products with Embedded Linux or SafeRTOS. Intervene operationally in the development team if necessary; the leadership and development of your employees remain central.
• Strengthen collaboration and engineering standards: Clarify interfaces and expectations with specialized departments and product teams, promote knowledge transfer, standards, and best practices, and coordinate support for platform adoption, integration, debugging, and maintenance.
• Improve quality and processes: Continuously develop our development and quality processes in compliance with standards, including code reviews, build automation, CI/CD, testing, and releases. Ensure regulatory compliance and technical documentation, and coordinate your team's contributions to risk analyses, cybersecurity measures, and change management. Evaluate new working methods and AI tools according to their usefulness and suitability.

Your talents

• Experience in professional or disciplinary management, goal setting, delegation, feedback, and employee development
• Deep knowledge and practical experience in modern C++ as well as several years of experience in embedded software development. Deep knowledge in Embedded Linux or hardware-proximate software; experience in control technology is an advantage. Good understanding of hardware-software interaction as well as the ability to analyze complex problems in a structured manner and to thoroughly evaluate architecture, software quality, and testability
• Experience in using and validating AI-assisted development tools as well as in the critical evaluation of the results obtained
• Clear communication, active listening, and constructive conflict resolution; ability to bring together different perspectives
• Knowledge of standard-compliant software development and quality processes in the medical field, including documentation, verification, and pragmatic evaluation of new working methods and tools
• Degree in computer science or a comparable technical field, or equivalent qualification through relevant professional experience
• Very good knowledge of German and English
• Asset: practical experience with the Yocto Project or SafeRTOS
