Head of Logistics

Our client, Gilgen Door Systems AG, is a technologically leading Swiss industrial company with an international presence and demanding production and logistics processes. As part of the strategic further development of the entire supply chain, we are looking for an entrepreneurially minded leader who will take responsibility for logistics, inventory management, and future material control. This key position reports directly to the COO and will perspectively evolve from a classic logistics management role to comprehensive responsibility for supply chain management, material management, and international logistics networks. In addition to strategic topics, the focus is explicitly on operational excellence and pragmatic leadership of the department. Your challenge ### Logistics, Leadership & Operational Excellence • You lead the logistics department with 30 employees and ensure a high-performance, customer-oriented organization • You are close to daily operational activities, support your teams pragmatically, and promote a culture of responsibility and cooperation • You continuously develop the logistics organization including warehousing, intralogistics, and freight forwarding • You sustainably optimize material flows, warehouse structures, as well as national and international transport concepts • You actively drive operational excellence initiatives together with the specialist departments • You ensure efficient supply to internal and external customers at all times Supply Chain & Inventory Management • Assume overall responsibility for inventory management and ensure optimal material availability with minimal capital commitment • Analyze stocks and sustainably implement concrete improvement measures • Further develop modern methods of inventory control and create transparency • Establish future-proof processes in S&OP, planning, scheduling, and material management Systems, Processes & Transformation • Continuously develop and optimally utilize SAP as well as relevant control instruments • Ensure high data quality, efficient processes, and sustainable governance • Lead cross-departmental transformation projects • Successfully implement optimizations together with purchasing, production, engineering, finance, sales, service, and IT Your profile ### • Technical or business administration basic training with further training at HF, FH, or university level • Several years of leadership and management experience in supply chain management and logistics within a manufacturing industrial company • Demonstrable success in optimizing stocks, material flows, and supply chain processes • Sound knowledge in supply chain management, material management, scheduling, MRP, S&OP, and inventory management • Very good SAP knowledge, particularly SAP MM at controller and key-user level, is central for this function • Experience in change and transformation projects as well as in building modern supply chain organizations • Experience in international industrial companies is an advantage • German at a business fluent level as well as very good English skills • Entrepreneurial doer personality with strong ownership, high implementation competence, and a strong connection between strategy and operational practice • Strong leadership skills, assertive, and diplomatic; even in change processes, you maintain an overview and succeed in winning people over to common goals What awaits you ### • Strategic key position with a direct reporting line to the COO • High visibility within the corporate group • Opportunity to actively shape the future supply chain organization • Responsibility for group-wide inventory and optimization programs • Modern, international industrial environment with a long-term perspective • Large scope for action and short decision-making paths Interest aroused? ### For this exciting challenge, we are looking for a personality who takes responsibility, drives change, and achieves sustainable results.
