Part of the Hôpital du Jura, Delémont site (French-speaking Switzerland), the Pediatrics Department is composed of an inpatient hospitalization sector (9 general pediatric beds, 3 neonatology 2A beds), a maternity ward (approx. 550 births/year), a pediatric emergency reception sector (approx. 10,000 visits/year), and an outpatient consultation service - Centres Mediped Delémont and Porrentruy. The pediatrics department is a training center for pediatric residents recognized by the IFSM. Its mission is the medico-psycho-social and surgical care of patients aged between 0 and 16 years. The team works in close collaboration with the University Hospital of Basel.

To complement the current staff, we are recruiting for an immediate or to be agreed upon start, for the position of:

Responsibilities

The chief resident in pediatrics is a clinician trained in their specialty. They have a role in the direct care of patients, in the teaching and supervision of resident doctors (interns) and trainees (externs), and in the management of flows under the supervision of a senior physician. They are subject to an intra-hospital on-call service. These tasks and responsibilities are as follows:

• Ensure patient care.
• Supervise and train resident doctors (interns) responsible for patient care.
• Proactively organize their work as well as the functioning of the department.
• Interact with specialists for optimal care of young patients.
• Participate in the pre- and postgraduate training of the department (trainees and residents).

Qualifications

• You hold an FMH specialist title in pediatrics or benefit from an equivalent training recognized at the European level by Mebeko.
• Ideally, you benefit from at least 1 year of clinical experience in a pediatric medico-surgical emergency department or general pediatrics.
• You are proficient in French or have the ability to acquire it quickly (level B2/C1).
• Another foreign language (English, German, Italian, Spanish, or other) is welcome.
• Your dynamism is communicative.
