Nurse Night Shift Justizvollzug Bern

In the health service of a correctional facility, you carry the nursing responsibility at night when you are the only medical specialist on site. In Hindelbank, Kanton Bern, we are looking for a Dipl. Pflegefachfrau HF/FH or a Dipl. Pflegefachmann HF/FH for the night watch with a workload of 40% as of 1. October 2026 or by arrangement. In the only correctional facility for women in German-speaking Switzerland, you will care for committed women in closed and open custody.

What awaits you in this responsible task

• You primarily perform night shifts as well as late shifts by arrangement
• You manage and prepare the medications and ensure medication administration including opioid substitution
• You are the first point of contact for medical and psychiatric emergencies at night and act quickly and professionally
• You undertake treatment care, medical assessments, as well as the coordination of appointments and hospital admissions
• You maintain medical documentation carefully and up to date
• You work closely with doctors, specialist departments, security personnel and reference persons

What you bring with you

• Tertiary education in the health sector as Dipl. Pflegefachfrau HF/FH or Dipl. Pflegefachmann HF/FH (PsyKP, AKP, DN II, HF, FH)
• Professional experience and secure medical specialist competence
• Calmness, decisiveness and a clear head in emergency situations
• Ability to build professional closeness to the women and at the same time maintain the necessary distance
• Very good German skills, good French and English skills, other languages an advantage
• Good knowledge of PC applications and databases
