Your mission

The objective of the internship is to contribute to the implementation of the artificial intelligence ecosystem of the Hospice général, ensuring that each solution brings concrete added value to our beneficiaries and our female and male collaborators. Your mission will be to challenge different technological solutions, particularly agentic approaches, and to test them on specific and measurable use cases.

Within the information systems and digital department, you will work within the Produit Data Intelligence team to design, test, and evaluate these solutions in their social usage context.

Your main activities

• You will actively participate in the construction of the AI ecosystem and the realization of the first high-value-added use cases.
• You will contribute to the implementation of the elements of the AI ecosystem (models, orchestration tools, integration into existing systems, …).
• You will design and test solutions via use cases (instant translation, appointment booking, management of meeting minutes, …).
• You will compare and challenge available technological solutions and formulate reasoned recommendations.
• You will be a source of proposals to make AI a value lever for our beneficiaries and our female and male collaborators.

Methodologies used:

• Agentic AI: design of agents capable of orchestrating tools, automating tasks.
• Use of AI platforms: Hugging Face, VLLM, Ollama, LM Studio.
• Development with Python for integration and orchestration.
• On-premise or private cloud deployment to guarantee data confidentiality.
• Language models (LLM) based mainly on open source solutions (Llama, Mistral, Apertus, etc.).
• Integration of the MCP protocol (Model Context Protocol) for secure interactions.
• Use of web frameworks (FastAPI, Flask) for application deployment.
• Containerization with Docker for the deployment of AI solutions.
• Principles of responsible and ethical AI in development.

Your profile

Currently undergoing Master's level training in a computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, or related field (HES, university or EPFL)

Sought skills:

• Interest in agentic AI: agent design, tool orchestration, MCP protocol.
• Solid knowledge in Python programming.
• Familiarity with AI tools and frameworks (Claude, Hugging Face, OpenAI, etc.).
• Understanding of language models and their practical integration.
• Experience with REST APIs and databases.
• Notions of containerization (Docker) and application deployment.
• Understanding of security and data confidentiality issues.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Proactive in proposing ideas and searching for innovative solutions.
• Sensitivity to the ethical issues of AI.
• Ability to popularize complex technical concepts.
