Senior Physician Geriatric Psychiatry 20 - 100% St. Gallen

As a Senior Physician for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, you will shape the professional direction of geriatric and neuropsychiatry and establish a geriatric psychiatric day clinic. In St. Gallen, we are looking for you

immediately or by arrangement, with a workload to be agreed upon.

You manage the geriatric psychiatric services across outpatient, day-clinic, and consultative settings and bear the senior medical responsibility for patients aged 60 and over.

What awaits you in this responsible task

• As the senior medical management, you direct the professional orientation and further development of geriatric and neuropsychiatry across outpatient, day-clinic, and consultative settings
• You lead the senior physicians, assistant physicians, as well as psychologists professionally and personally and are responsible for their further training and supervision
• Together with the interprofessional team, you ensure the medical and therapeutic care of patients aged 60 and over
• You take over the conceptual, organizational, and professional establishment of the geriatric psychiatric day clinic and develop a cross-setting treatment pathway
• You actively network with care homes, Spitex, and other hospital partners and promote a treatment culture according to the principles of Recovery and Shared Decision Making

What you bring with you

• Specialist title in Psychiatry and Psychotherapy or an equivalent foreign specialist title
• Ideally a focus title in Geriatric and Neuropsychiatry or a corresponding further training already in progress
• Several years of professional and leadership experience in a psychiatric institution with an outpatient treatment offering
• Joy in the further training of psychological employees and a strong willingness for interprofessional cooperation
• Very good German skills in speaking and writing (at least C1)
