The energy world is changing rapidly. Digitalization, data and Artificial Intelligence are becoming decisive success factors for the safe and efficient operation of the Swiss transmission grid.

Ensure electricity in Switzerland

In this key role, you take responsibility for the further development of digitalization, innovation and data-driven applications at Swissgrid. As Head of Digital Innovation & AI, you actively help shape the digital future of Swissgrid. You develop innovative solutions, unlock new potentials through data and AI and promote a company-wide innovation culture. Together with internal and external partners, you bring forward-looking ideas from vision to implementation. Your responsibilities and tasks include, in particular:

• in close cooperation with the business units, you shape the strategic direction of digitalization, data and AI and apply new solution approaches in pilot projects
• identify opportunities for new digital solutions and innovative business approaches along the Swissgrid value chain
• initiate, control and accompany innovation, research and transformation projects up to operational usability
• promote the use of modern technologies in the field of Artificial Intelligence and automation
• contribute to a company-wide innovation and learning culture and support knowledge transfer across organizational boundaries
• lead a team of around five highly qualified and motivated experts and create the framework conditions for their successful professional and personal development
• represent Swissgrid in national and international specialist committees, research programs and innovation networks
• maintain and strengthen sustainable relationships with universities, start-ups, technology partners and other transmission system operators

This is how you make the difference

We are looking for an inspiring leader with strategic thinking, technological curiosity and entrepreneurial flair. You bring with you:

• University degree (University or ETH/FH) in electrical engineering, Computer Science, engineering sciences, business informatics or a comparable field of study
• Sound knowledge of the functioning of electrical energy systems (electrical engineering) and grid operation
• -Can-do- hands-on mentality: Thanks to your technical expertise, you act as both a coach and a Technical Lead
• Several years of experience in the areas of digitalization, data management, AI, innovation or technological transformation
• Demonstrable leadership experience and joy in promoting and developing employees
• Strong ability to prepare complex topics understandably and communicate convincingly at all hierarchical levels
• Strategic thinking combined with pragmatic implementation strength and change management skills
• Enthusiasm for new technologies as well as a high interest in innovation and research
• Ability to build cooperations and connect different stakeholder groups
• Very good German and English skills, French skills are an advantage
