Mechanical engineer (IWE/IWT) specialized in welding technology

Your mission:

In the field of mechanics, you participate in studies, maintenance projects, and repairs for hydroelectric power plants and their technical installations. You work in the fields of mechanical engineering and welding technology.
In close collaboration with other engineers as well as with our workshops in Martigny, you provide your technical expertise to support specialized maintenance work and develop practical solutions meeting operational requirements.

Your tasks:

• Technical support to maintenance managers in the various hydroelectric power plants
• Development and implementation of technical solutions as part of large hydroelectric power plant rehabilitation projects in collaboration with the different technical units
• Budgeting of work to be carried out, preparation of offers as well as technical support to the commercial department
• Project management respecting cost, deadline, and quality constraints
• Organization and coordination of interventions by external suppliers as well as internal teams (welders, inspectors) in close collaboration with the maintenance managers of the different sites
• Updating and maintaining the technical documentation of the hydroelectric power plants based on studies and final reports
• Execution and accompaniment of manufacturing control as well as component receptions at suppliers and in our own workshops
• Participation in the coordination of welding work in our workshops in Martigny (DMOS/QMOS/QS) as well as on intervention sites
• Analysis and verification of technical documentation from suppliers, in particular welding documentation

Your skills:

• ETH or HES graduate engineer in mechanical engineering (or equivalent)
• IWE or IWT certification
• At least 5 years of professional experience in industry; at least 3 years of experience in the field of hydroelectricity is an asset
• Experience in welding technology (development of DMOS/WPS, verification of welding instructions, design adapted to welding, manufacturing control and carrying out inspections)
• Knowledge and/or certifications in the field of non-destructive testing (NDT), for example according to COFREND, are an asset
• Great sense of organization and ability to coordinate several projects and tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work autonomously, analytical mind as well as a marked competence to structure and synthesize complex subjects
• Good writing skills in the field of technical documentation
• Native French or German speaker; good knowledge of the other language is an asset
• Interest in site work and availability for regular one-day trips to our various hydroelectric power plants (up to 30% of working time)
