GLOBE stands for «Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment» and connects school and science. Students of all levels explore their environment using scientific methods and engage with current environmental topics in the sense of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). GLOBE Switzerland is an independent association operating on behalf of the Federal Office for the Environment. For almost 30 years, GLOBE Switzerland has been implementing the international program with nationally adapted learning offers in three national languages. As a result of a retirement, we are looking for our office starting January 1, 2027, or by arrangement Scientific Staff 80% Your tasks The focus of your activity is the further development of the learning offers. Further develop learning offers and lead projects • You independently lead thematic development projects from the idea to publication. • You develop technical content partly yourself, partly together with partner institutions from subject didactics and science, and align them with the curricula of the language regions. • You report to the funders on the progress of the projects. • You assist in the procurement of the necessary project funds for the development of new learning offers. Accompany implementation and disseminate offers • You are the technical contact person for our regional representatives, who are usually based at Universities of Teacher Education, and advise them on implementation. • You lead continuing education courses for teachers, partly together with the regional representatives. • You provide technical advice to teachers and are responsible for the material lending. • You make the offers known at schools and Universities of Teacher Education and seek suitable partnerships for this purpose. Your position You are technically responsible for the GLOBE learning offers and report directly to the management. You share responsibility for the budgets of your projects. With you, our office consists of four people; accordingly, your scope for design is large and the cooperation is accordingly close. What you bring with you • University degree in environmental sciences, biology, geography or a related field • Experience in leading projects, ideally in an educational or scientific environment • Joy in collaborating with people from schools, universities and research • Confident appearance in consulting and in leading continuing education courses • Enthusiasm for current environmental topics and the ability to convey them understandably • Independent and structured way of working • Very good German skills and good French skills in speaking and writing • Willingness for regular travel within Switzerland Are an advantage • Pedagogical background or teaching experience • Experience in adult education, especially in the further education of teachers • Experience in writing and editing learning media as well as in dealing with digital learning formats • Experience in the procurement of project funds • Italian language skills What we offer you • A meaningful task at the interface of education, science and environment • A large scope for design in a small, well-coordinated team • A national network of Universities of Teacher Education and research institutions • Place of work in Ittigen near Bern, in the premises of the Federal Office for the Environment, with good connections to public transport • Flexible working hours and the possibility to work in the home office up to two days per week Your application We look forward to receiving your application with a cover letter, CV and certificates by August 31, 2026, to Martina Brun, Managing Director, mbrun@globe-swiss.ch.
