Engineer for bearing housings and turning devices for steam turbines

You select and specify bearing housing and turning device components for steam turbines in combined cycle power plants and perform associated rotor calculations.

Tasks

• Selection and specification of bearing housing components for new projects
• Selection and specification of turning device components for new projects
• Participation in technological developments at the system and component level
• Cooperation with internal and external specialist teams from design and supply chain
• Execution and verification of technical analyses to ensure robust designs
• Consideration of safety aspects during lifting and transport processes

Profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
• Experience in the field of steam turbine design or bearing housing/turning device components
• Knowledge of mechanical design, materials science, statics and strength of materials
• Understanding of fatigue (LCF & HCF) and creep behavior of components
• Good English skills
• Finite element analysis is an advantage
• A second language such as German, French, Spanish or Polish is an advantage
