Tasks

• Overall responsibility for the operational management, control and further development of transport operations
• Leadership, promotion and further development of employees
• Coordination of dispatching and locations as well as ensuring clear responsibilities and efficient processes
• Ensuring a reliable deputy organization
• Optimal planning and utilization of personnel, vehicles and orders
• Early recognition and resolution of capacity bottlenecks
• Leadership and coaching of dispatchers and employees
• Participation in recruitment, employee appraisals as well as training and further education
• Analysis and optimization of productivity, vehicle utilization, working hours, costs and key performance indicators
• Continuous further development of processes, structures and interfaces
• Support in the digitalization and further development of transport management systems
• Operational support for selected customers and assistance with complex transport orders
• Participation in offers, calculations as well as new customer and transport projects
• Ensuring compliance with legal, internal and customer-specific requirements
• Coordination of training, audits, complaints and preventive measures
• Ensuring the technical availability and economic efficiency of the fleet
• Coordination of maintenance, repairs and vehicle procurement
• Participation in budgeting and ongoing cost control
• Analysis of deviations and initiation of suitable measures

Qualification

• Professional experience in the transport, freight forwarding or logistics environment
• Several years of leadership experience in an operational transport organization
• Sound knowledge of dispatching and transport control
• Experience in leading dispatchers and driving staff
• Good knowledge of capacity, resource and cost management
• Experience with key performance indicators and operational controlling
• Good knowledge of the legal framework in Swiss road transport
• High IT affinity and experience with dispatching/transport management systems
• Very good German skills in spoken and written form, French skills an advantage
• Knowledge of ADR/ARV as well as dangerous goods and special transports an advantage
• Experience with quality management and audits an advantage
• Leadership competent, decisive and assertive
• High social competence and clear, binding communication
• Independent, resilient, organized and solution-oriented
