The Maturity School for Adults (MSE) is a school for second-chance education supported by the Canton of Luzern with approx. 200 students and 30 teachers. It is affiliated as an independent department of the Kantonsschule Reussbühl Luzern (KSR), which operates a long-term and a short-term gymnasium with approx. 800 students in the growing area of Luzern Nord.

The MSE offers a part-time, three-and-a-half-year high school course and a one-year passerelle course for holders of a vocational/technical maturity, and enables its graduates to access colleges and universities via maturity and supplementary examinations.

The MSE school system is based on an adult-friendly combination of self-study and classroom instruction. Lessons take place on Tuesday, Wednesday (afternoon and evening), and Saturday.

The "a" in the job title stands for "alle" (all). The Canton of Luzern stands for diversity and variety.

Your tasks

• As a member of the extended school management of the Kantonsschule Reussbühl, you shape the pedagogical, personnel, and organizational development of the MSE with clear responsibility and an independent perspective.
• Under the overall management of the Rector, you coordinate closely on central issues and school-wide specifications - such as financial planning - and contribute your perspectives to the further development of the KSR.
• With a passion for adult education, you shape a modern, innovative learning culture that meaningfully combines self-study and classroom instruction and offers adult students real opportunities for development.
• You actively network the MSE with the state adult gymnasiums in Switzerland and maintain a reliable, open exchange internally and externally.
• You plan and organize admission procedures, maturity and supplementary examinations, ensure smooth processes, and teach yourself to a reduced extent.
• With an attentive, motivating attitude, you lead teachers, create orientation in an environment with small workloads and special teaching times, and promote identification and engagement.

Your profile

• You bring a completed university degree, the qualification to teach at secondary level II, and several years of teaching experience - ideally with adults, as well as leadership experience from a comparable function.
• As an initiative, independent, and resilient leader, you bring a reflective pedagogical attitude, respectful and appreciative conduct, as well as strong organizational and communicative skills.
• You are on-site during regular teaching times - such as every Saturday as well as Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons and evenings. Your presence is an important part of the MSE management and creates real proximity to the people who shape everyday school life.
• You deal with different interests as well as spatial, personnel, and financial framework conditions in a solution-oriented and responsible manner.
• Complex projects appeal to you, and you particularly see the digitalization of school and teaching as an opportunity to actively help shape the MSE.
