What awaits you ##

In this function, you will lead the Law & Compliance department and be responsible for the legal service function for the Insurance executive management division (non-life) for cross-cutting topics outside of claims settlement.

What you will achieve with us ##

As Head of the Law & Compliance department, you are responsible for the functional and personnel leadership of six employees. Together with them, you strive for a cooperative, customer-oriented, and solution-oriented leadership culture.

Your tasks include the strategic further development of the department. You are responsible for various areas such as insurance law, property insurance law, building insurance law, supervisory law, data protection law, and compliance. Additionally, you support initiatives in the non-life area and implement new legal frameworks and regulatory requirements. In doing so, you actively shape the digital further development of legal and compliance work and use the possibilities of AI and new technologies to effectively further develop processes, consulting, and knowledge management.

As a decentralized compliance function, you represent the Insurance executive management division in corresponding committees. You advise the line in all legal matters regarding products as well as new offerings and participate in projects.

What you bring with you ##

• Completed law studies, possibly supplemented with a bar admission
• Proven professional experience in the legal field within the insurance industry environment, especially in the non-life business
• Leadership experience as well as project management experience are an advantage
• High digital affinity and understanding of the potentials, risks, and practical application of AI and new technologies; experience with legal tech, data, or automation solutions is an advantage
• Customer-oriented, strong-negotiating personality with a pronounced flair for working with different stakeholders
• Open, communicative, and practical working style
• Very good German skills in speaking and writing, good French and possibly Italian skills

Your place of work is Bern and the workload is negotiable from 80%.
