The Justizvollzugsanstalt Bostadel is an independent public-law institution in the concordat of Northwest and Central Switzerland with its own legal personality. It is operated by the cantons of Basel-Stadt and Zug and has 108 places in normal execution and 12 places in a security department. Around 90 employees work at JVA Bostadel, who ensure security within the institution and contribute to providing meaningful employment and resocialization for the 120 prisoners. To strengthen our team, we are looking for an engaged supervisor or caretaker (m/f) 80-100% in the field of metalworking/assembly, starting immediately or by arrangement.

Your tasks

• Guidance, care, and supervision of prisoners in daily work life
• Setting up, accompanying, and monitoring production and customer orders on CNC machines
• Ensuring quality, deadlines, and occupational safety
• Incoming and outgoing goods controls
• Participation in internal operational processes and organizational tasks
• Promoting a structured and appreciative working environment
• Following careful introduction, additional shifts in evening, night, and weekend service (regulated shift operation)
• Participation in the security and supervisory service of the institution

Your profile

• Completed apprenticeship as a CNC mechanic/polymechanic
• Experience in milling, industrial manufacturing/assembly is an advantage
• Enjoyment of practical work and dealing with people
• Calm demeanor, assertiveness, and high social competence
• Resilience as well as a responsible and reliable way of working
• Readiness to undergo training as a specialist in corrections (Fachfrau/Fachmann Justizvollzug)
• Good German language skills as well as PC user skills
• Flawless record and driver's license Cat. B
• Minimum age 30 years
