Laboratory Specialist (m/f/d) in biotechnological active ingredient production – Pharma / GMP / Laboratory IT / On-call service / German Project: For our client, a large pharmaceutical company based in Basel, we are looking for a Laboratory Specialist (m/f/d) in biotechnological active ingredient production At the Basel Drug Substance location, we produce 3 technologies in two Manufacturing Units – Monoclonal Antibody (MAB) in MU B95, Antibody Drug Conjugates (ADCs) and Single Use Technology (SUT) in MU B91 – high-quality pharmaceutical active ingredients to supply patients worldwide with medicines. The Manufacturing Lab Team offers you the opportunity to independently take on varied and demanding tasks in a biological production environment. Become part of our team and actively contribute to the development and manufacture of innovative medicines by participating in the following processes: As a support unit, you support the WCB (= Working Cell Bank) thawing process. You accompany and advise interfaces regarding the correct system-technical execution of the E2E process (= End-to-End processes) for process samples and their analyses in the production buildings. You process deviations related to the sample management process and work on new and existing risk analyses. As part of CAPA measures, you implement continuous improvement processes and participate in inspection management. You are part of the first-level support for your own team and interfaces regarding questions about the sample management process. The perfect candidate has completed training as a laboratory technician or pharmaceutical technologist or holds a Bachelor's degree in a natural or technical science field, as well as at least three years of experience in pharmaceutical laboratory work. The person brings sound GMP knowledge, works confidently with laboratory IT systems, and convinces through a hands-on, operative way of working, team spirit, flexibility, and reliability in a dynamic environment. Main tasks and areas of responsibility: • Independent development and optimization of laboratory activities in biotechnological active ingredient production in a GMP environment • Support of production interfaces to ensure process workflows and analysis-based support during troubleshooting to ensure production requirements in the laboratory area • Operation and maintenance of various laboratory devices and instruments • Administration and transport of samples (Sample Management) • Material management in the laboratory areas and ensuring laboratory readiness • Maintenance of master data in systems such as sLIMS, Unilab and MES • Ensuring WCB administration, thawing, and their culture in the seed laboratory • Independent processing of changes, deviations and CAPAs as well as checking and releasing documents in the QMS • Participation in internal and external inspections / audits • Support for continuous improvement measures and process optimizations Must Haves: • completed training as a laboratory technician / pharmaceutical technologist or a Bachelor's degree in a technical or natural science field, ideally in biotechnology or biology • at least 3 years of professional experience in laboratory work within a pharmaceutical environment • experience with GMP (-documentation) • confident handling of IT systems and laboratory software (e.g., LIMS, Unilab) as well as MES is an advantage • willingness to perform on-call service (every 6-8 weeks) • fluent in German; English skills are an advantage • flexibility, adaptability and reliability in activities within a dynamic environment with changing priorities • good in organization and communication • team player Reference No.: 925192SDA Role: Laboratory Specialist (m/f/d) in biotechnological active ingredient production Industry: Pharma Location: Basel Workload: 100% Start: 01.10.2026 Duration: 12++ Application deadline: 03.09.2026 Should this position have aroused your interest, please send us your complete [application].
