Your missions ##

We are looking for a committed person strong in research with a pronounced practical mentality. Directly reporting to the lipid development team leader, you will take charge of the development and practical implementation of the synthesis of innovative lipids and associated molecular classes in order to expand our lipid portfolio for pharmaceutical applications.

• Autonomous development of innovative lipids and associated molecular classes, from route searching to synthesis and process development, including chromatographic purification (MPLC, preparative HPLC), isolation, and scaling up to the 10-100 g scale
• Close collaboration with all involved departments for the success of development projects
• Contribution of new creative synthesis methods and concepts; participation in scientific collaborations with external partners is desired
• Responsibility for the timely completion of all necessary documentation (technical manufacturing and status reports, etc.)
• Communication of all technical aspects to internal stakeholders.

Your profile ##

• Doctorate in organic chemistry obtained less than 3 years ago
• Extensive knowledge and practical experience in the synthetic chemistry of complex organic molecules and solid foundations in physical chemistry. Knowledge of lipid chemistry, peptide chemistry, or associated specialized fields is an advantage
• Ability to critically evaluate scientific literature and autonomously develop new synthesis routes
• Demonstrated ability to pragmatically and autonomously identify, analyze, and solve complex synthesis and purification problems
• Scientific curiosity with a practical mentality and pleasure in working in an autonomous experimental manner
• Taste for practical laboratory work, as well as for performing syntheses, processing, and purifications at the 10-100 g scale
• Good analytical skills, particularly in NMR, HPLC, and LC-MS, and in the interpretation of analytical datasets. Experience with CAD detectors is an advantage
• Great sense of initiative as well as the ability to advance development projects in a largely autonomous manner
• Excellent analytical reasoning skills and speed of understanding
• Careful documentation of experiments, autonomous writing of technical reports
• Structured evaluation and presentation of results
• Team spirit, proactive action, and very autonomous and committed work
• Communication skills, process-oriented thinking and action
• Excellent knowledge of German and English.
