Supervisor / Caretaker 80 - 100% # With around 1400 employees, Justizvollzug und Wiedereingliederung (JuWe) is the largest office within the Direktion der Justiz und des Innern and is responsible for the enforcement of sentences and measures as well as for the implementation of various types of detention. Our employees from around 40 professions support and promote the reintegration of convicted people and are effectively and progressively committed to a safe and just society. Die Untersuchungsgefängnisse Zürich (UGZ) are one of eight main departments of JuWe. They comprise seven facilities with around 735 prison places and about 500 employees. They are responsible for provisional arrest, investigative and security detention, as well as the early enforcement of sentences and measures until transfer to an enforcement facility. In doing so, they fulfill a central function within the Zurich justice system from the very beginning. As part of the UGZ, the Gefängnis Limmattal is located in the Bezirksgebäude Dietikon and has 70 detention places. In addition to a department for adult men, it includes a youth department as well as a specialized department for crisis interventions. To strengthen our team in the Gefängnis Limmattal, the predominant workplace being the youth department, we are looking for a seasoned personality with extensive life experience and high resilience in dynamic situations. The position is limited to one year. This is your area of impact ### • You accompany, care for and engage incarcerated persons, predominantly youths up to 18 years, within the daily structures from their entry to their exit. In doing so, you assume different functions and contribute actively to reintegration • As the first point of contact, you recognize the special challenges faced by incarcerated persons and offer them orientation and support in this difficult situation • To ensure an orderly daily routine, you ensure compliance with and enforcement of our security and service regulations. In critical moments, you are able to recognize and professionally manage crisis situations • As part of an interdisciplinary team, you also undertake administrative tasks, such as creating reports and documenting events, as well as participating in meetings and team sessions • Together with the team, you develop new leisure and meaningful engagement offers for the youths and actively help shape the weekly plan This is what you bring with you ### • You approach people in a coercive context with a holistic perception and build professional social relationships with them. You know how to consciously regulate closeness and distance to inmates and approach crisis situations cautiously and proactively • You bring great enthusiasm for your new working environment and participate actively in the development and design of detention conditions in investigative detention • You enjoy working with youths and bring experience in youth work and/or a pedagogical education • You are psychologically resilient and changing working hours (shift, night, weekend, and holiday services) are compatible with your other obligations • You have a corresponding qualification (EFZ, (Fach)-Maturität or similar) and several years of professional experience - ideally in a comparable activity • You express yourself well in German, both in writing and orally, and ideally have knowledge of other languages • You are proficient with the MS Office suite • Minimum age of 25 years and an impeccable record (i.e., no relevant entries in the criminal record or the debt enforcement register) This is what makes this position special ### • You can look forward to a demanding, interesting, and versatile activity as well as a reliable, supportive team • Diverse internal and external further training opportunities are open to you - including the part-time training to become a specialist in judicial enforcement with a federal diploma (eidg.
