IT Unit Head for Education & Academic ERP Migration Project Manager

IT Unit Head for Education & Academic ERP Migration Project Manager Mission EPFL faces major challenges in terms of Information System management. The EPFL Directorate of Information Systems (DSI) is responsible for implementing EPFL's digital strategy. These missions include, in a combination of direct and matrix responsibilities, the development and implementation of EPFL's IT strategy and master plan, the digitalization of business processes, IT security, the management of central IT infrastructures, the management of core business applications, as well as coordination with the IT services of the Faculties. The "Information Systems for Academic Services" (ISAS) Department is at the heart of value creation for the EPFL Information System and its evolutions. The teams collaborate with EPFL business units to analyze needs, develop, enrich, and consolidate IT solutions, while maintaining their stability. They also advise on the potential impact of solutions on business processes and propose process improvements based on standard market solutions or, more rarely, based on specific solutions. As IT Unit Head for Education & Academic ERP Migration Project Manager for our ISAS-GIF unit, you are responsible for a team of people in charge of the IT tools intended for the management of studies, and you ensure that they are adapted to the needs of the student, faculty, doctoral, and especially academic staff. You work in close collaboration with the entire Vice-Presidency for Education (Academic), as well as with third-party application maintenance partners. You are also responsible for the current migration project of the EPFL Academic ERP. In these roles, you have a strategic role in defining and executing the School's IT strategy in connection with the field of Education. In this field, you lead all the projects and services assigned to you, under all aspects: human and financial resources, quality, reporting, and governance. With your team, with your fellow unit heads, department heads, and especially with the Vice-Presidencies concerned by the field, you actively participate in the operational excellence of EPFL. Main tasks and responsibilities Main tasks and responsibilities, as Unit Head: Supervise and lead the unit: coordinate and manage personnel, control activities. Develop expertise. Ensure the maintenance of the mapping and alignment of the unit's skills with the needs and evolution of the IS. Plan the workload of the team. Perform monitoring, reporting, and the production of dashboards for management and partners. Continuously pilot the financial management of the unit, and the annual forecast budgeting, in compliance with procedures. Guarantee the consistency of projects or services within their scope of responsibility. Work jointly with business partners and the VPO (Vice-Presidency for Operations) teams to establish digitalization project roadmaps. Set objectives for the unit, monitor them, and review them periodically. Implement Management decisions and actively participate in talent development. Recruit unit employees and/or service providers. Lead projects or a program of projects for the various related developments within the ISAS-GIF scope. Monitor the contract related to the current Education ERP with the company in charge of third-party application maintenance. As Academic ERP Migration Project Manager: Ensure the coordination of the different developments of the Education ERP. Lead, with the partners from the call for tenders, the development and production launch of the Education ERP for EPFL entities. Lead the evolutions of the Education ERP as well as manage interactions with other IT applications for training. Monitor the contracts related to the new educational information system currently being implemented with the companies in charge of developments and future third-party application maintenance. Manage relations with suppliers and external contractors. Manage the life cycle of the Education ERP and the functional and technical roadmap. Ensure compliance with management, documentation, and security standards according to the requirements imposed by EPFL. Personally participate and/or have the unit ensure the realization and maintenance of the various software programs, interfaces, as well as lead the various updates necessary for their functioning.
