The Department for Teaching and Learning / Unit for Teaching and Learning (UTL) designs strategic foundations for the further development of teaching at ETH Zürich and simultaneously supports its implementation in practice. In this way, UTL connects long-term strategy development with concrete services. Our aim is to train graduates who, as *Change Agents for a better tomorrow*, will responsibly help shape social and technical developments. Good curricula form the basis for this. They create the framework in which students develop professional excellence across the interplay of individual courses, acquire practical competencies, and combine different perspectives into a holistic understanding. UTL supports the departments in the strategic and operational further development of their study programs. Together with the departments, we design curriculum development processes, accompany their implementation, and create the prerequisites for ensuring that changes are sustainably anchored in teaching. In doing so, we combine consulting, methodological expertise, and a consistent orientation towards implementation. For the leadership of our Curriculum Development team, we are looking for an experienced leader with proven expertise in university curriculum development. They will take on the personnel and functional leadership of the team and, together with the team members, design the support of the departments in the further development of their study programs and ensure that strategic projects are transferred into viable, implementable solutions. In addition, they will work closely with the Prorector for Curriculum Development and support them with strategic, conceptual, and operational issues. Job Description ## • Personnel and functional leadership of the Curriculum Development team • Advising and accompanying responsible persons and departments in the strategic and conceptual further development of study programs, from strategic clarification through decision-making to successful implementation • Development and establishment of suitable methods, processes, instruments, and practical support offerings for curriculum development, such as workshop formats or work aids • Close cooperation with the Prorector for Curriculum Development as well as support with selected strategic, conceptual, and operational issues • Participation in strategic initiatives within UTL and for the further development of teaching at ETH Zürich • Proactive building and continuous maintenance of a viable network within UTL as well as with departments, study program leads, and other stakeholders relevant to curriculum development • Ensuring the effective implementation of curriculum development projects through the coordination of relevant stakeholders, promotion of shared responsibility, and consistent follow-up of agreed measures Profile ## • University degree as well as profound experience in curriculum development at the university level • Ideally own teaching experience in the higher education sector and a good understanding of the design of university teaching • Several years of leadership experience as well as enjoyment in the functional and personnel development of an interdisciplinary team • Ability to design change processes and bring different interests together into viable solutions • High willingness to take on and represent ownership • Strong strategic and analytical thinking skills as well as the ability to structure complex issues and develop viable, practical solutions • High consulting competence, strong understanding of service • Integrative personality with high social competence, persuasiveness, and diplomatic skill, as well as the ability to win different stakeholders for common goals, promote cross-departmental cooperation, and bring about viable decisions. • Proven implementation strength as well as experience in successfully leading complex cross-organizational projects in an academic environment from conception to sustainable implementation. • Very good German and English skills in speaking and writing We offer ## An open and collegial working environment with proximity to strategic issues of teaching and higher education development at ETH Zürich.
