Specialized Inspector in the industrial sector

Job description ## As a specialized inspector within the Office de la consommation (OFCO), attached to the Département de l-agriculture, de la durabilité et du climat et du numérique, you work towards consumer protection and the food and consumer goods safety in its mission of monitoring the industrial sector at the cantonal scale. You plan and coordinate inspections, sampling and interventions and proceed with investigations and recommendations. In close collaboration with the authorities and partners concerned, you contribute to continuous improvement, quality assurance and the sharing of expertise within the inspection sector. Responsibilities ## • Assume responsibility for the monitoring of a specific industrial sector in the field of cheesemaking, butchery, dietary supplements, cosmetic products (non-exhaustive list) for the entire cantonal territory, as a technical referent, and guarantee consumer protection, as well as the legal compliance of companies, businesses and public establishments producing or marketing foodstuffs or consumer goods in a sector of the cantonal territory. • Plan, organize and coordinate inspection and sampling missions, as well as interventions in case of alarm, in one's field of specialization including for complex or high-stakes situations. • Analyze and process complex and sensitive cases, proceed with the investigations required by the Inspecteur·trice cantonal·e and formulate technical and/or operational recommendations. • Manage specific issues requiring reinforced coordination with other cantonal or national control bodies as well as institutional partners. • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the inspectorate of foodstuffs and consumer goods, to the maintenance and evolution of the quality assurance system, as well as the sharing of expertise within the inspectorate. • Participate in commissions as a representative of the Office and technical expert For more information, please consult the job description by clicking HERE or contact M. Qualifications ## • HES diploma (Bachelor) or title deemed equivalent, in a field related to food safety or consumer goods • CAS in Internal Audit and Federal Diploma in food control (DCAl), which can be completed while working • Professional experience in the field of foodstuffs of at least 5 years • Knowledge of different food technologies and standards, as well as cantonal, federal and international laws and ordinances on foodstuffs and consumer goods and their good practice guides • Mastery of appeal procedures and criminal complaints of food law and excellent knowledge of the quality management system and ISO 17020, 17025 and 22716 standards • Sense of responsibility and public service ethics • Ability to adapt, flexibility and communication skills • Spirit of mutual aid and collaboration • Self-control and good oral expression • Necessity to perform occasional interventions at night or during the weekend, or even on public holidays • Driver's license and availability of a private vehicle for professional travels WHO ARE WE? ## L-Office de la consommation (OFCO) has the mission to contribute to the protection of female and male consumers as well as the proper functioning of economic practices.
