Job ID REQ-10083982 Aug 19, 2026 Switzerland Summary ### The Cell Bank Center of Basel BDSS is a Manufacturing Unit (MU) responsible for the production of GMP and analytical cell banks for Novartis Biologics. The CBC Process Specialist is responsible for the GMP-compliant processes of the cell banks managed by the Basel Cell Bank Center (manufacturing, storage, inventory, shipping). The Process Specialist is the first point of contact for questions and topics surrounding CBC operations in Basel BDSS. About the Role ### Main responsibilities: • Execution and support of all production processes in compliance with GMP, HSE, environmental, and safety guidelines, as well as taking over the tasks of an equipment operator. • Ensuring a smooth production process through the operation, cleaning, preparation, sterilization, and monitoring of equipment, rooms, and auxiliary facilities. • Performance of sampling, in-process controls, environmental monitoring, and other quality-relevant activities to ensure product quality. • Responsibility for complete, timely, and GMP-compliant documentation, including batch records, logbooks, SAP entries, and production-relevant records. • Ensuring the availability of consumables, operating resources, and production resources, as well as supporting production planning and resource control. • Monitoring equipment performance, early detection of deviations, and initiation and coordination of appropriate immediate measures in the event of technical malfunctions or operational deviations. • Support in the investigation of deviations, particularly human errors, as well as collaboration with experts and quality assurance for root cause analysis and problem solving. • Promotion of a high GMP, quality, safety, and 5S culture through consistent compliance and implementation of the applicable standards on the shop floor. • Ensuring effective communication and coordination between production, quality, technical, and other interfaces to support uninterrupted operation. • Supporting team and operational performance through the organization of operative activities, batch releases of intermediates, problem solving, and continuous optimization of processes and resources to achieve production goals. Minimum requirements: • Technical degree; university degree (chemical engineering, pharmaceutical technology, biotechnology, biochemistry) desired for some technology platforms or equivalent experience. • At least 5 years of completed professional experience as an Equipment Specialist or 10 years in the fields of chemistry/food/pharmaceuticals/biotechnology/aseptic manufacturing or development. • Proficiency in the local language of the location. Intermediate knowledge of English.
