On behalf of one of our clients, a banking institution based in Genève, we are looking for a

Legal Advisor

Your mission
-------------

Reporting to the Legal & Compliance department, you provide legal advice and support to the various departments of the institution. You intervene in a pragmatic and operational manner on a wide variety of files, ensuring that legal and reputational risks are limited, while contributing to compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Your responsibilities
--------------------

• Advise the various departments on legal issues and propose solutions adapted to the needs of the institution and its clients, in compliance with the legal and regulatory framework.
• Draft, analyze, revise, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents, particularly in the fields of Commodity Trade Finance, wealth management, and relations with financial institutions.
• Handle requests, investigations, and procedures from Swiss judicial, administrative, and supervisory authorities, as well as competent offices.
• Examine internal directives, procedures, and documents to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on various subjects.
• Manage client succession files.
• Ensure the follow-up of external legal representatives in the context of advisory files, banking issues, and litigation.
• Monitor the evolution of Swiss legislation and regulation, identify relevant changes, and contribute to their implementation within the institution.
• Collaborate with Compliance teams on cross-functional topics.
• Prepare notes, minutes, and reports on specific legal issues.
• Participate, as needed, in internal training for employees.
• Act as a relay for the Legal & Compliance manager for legal questions in their absence.

Your profile
------------

• You have at least 8 to 10 years of experience in a similar legal role within the Swiss banking sector.
• You must have confirmed experience in Commodity Trade Finance.
• You possess a good understanding of regulatory and compliance issues in the banking environment.
• You master the legal and regulatory framework applicable to banking activities in Switzerland.
• You have excellent analytical, writing, and synthesis skills.
• You know how to manage several files simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• You demonstrate autonomy, rigor, initiative, and a strong sense of responsibility.
• You possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a true team spirit.
• You demonstrate integrity and a keen sense of professional ethics.
• You are perfectly proficient in French and English, both spoken and written.
• You reside in Switzerland.
