The Department of General Internal Medicine (DAIM) is a clinical competence center at three clinic locations in Bern (Klinik Beau-Site, Salem-Spital, Klinik Permanence) covering the entire spectrum of the discipline of General Internal Medicine and interdisciplinary clinical emergency medicine. The DAIM is a category A training site for General Internal Medicine, category IV for outpatient medicine, as well as SGNOR category 2 for clinical emergency medicine.

YOUR TASKS

• You take over the professional organization and management of the emergency operations and act as the central contact person between referrers and the clinic
• You ensure high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinate interdisciplinary cooperation
• You participate in the medical on-call service -- without the requirement for nocturnal presence
• You lead and support assistant physicians as well as students in training and continuing education
• You are responsible for medical service recording, reporting, and optimizing existing processes
• You strengthen cross-departmental cooperation and are the medical contact person for inpatient matters during fringe hours

YOUR PROFILE

• You possess a specialist title in General Internal Medicine or another specialty (e.g., surgery) or are close to completing the specialist title
• You are interested in a wide spectrum of clinical pictures from various disciplines
• You bring knowledge in interdisciplinary emergency medicine -- if applicable, additional designation clinical emergency medicine SGNOR -- and ideally have experience in the use of sonography
• You are an organizational talent for everyday life in the emergency room as well as a team player and strong in communication during interdisciplinary exchange
• You are very empathetic in dealing with patients and relatives
• We value your conflict resolution competence, your sense of responsibility, and your resilience
