We are looking for the head of the Building Construction Department of a municipal administration at Lake Zurich, starting January 1, 2027, or by arrangement.

Your profile

• Planning or technical basic training or CAS Public Building Law or university degree in architecture or spatial planning
• Experience in planning and construction law as well as in planning procedures
• Good oral and written expression in German
• Open-minded, service-oriented personality
• Enjoyment of teamwork and contact with the population
• Leadership experience is an advantage (department with two employees)

Your tasks

• Personnel, organizational, and technical management of the Building Construction Department
• Responsibility for structural and land-use planning as well as cooperation with regional and cantonal planning agencies
• Responsibility for building permit procedures, building inspections, building police, and structural fire protection (with the building secretary)
• Advising the department head, municipal council, building commission, and local planning commission, as well as the secretariat of these commissions
• Preparation of fundamentals, motions, and instructions for the municipal council and the municipal assembly
• Planning and heritage protection law information for clients, architectural firms, and the population
• Heritage conservation procedures, protection orders, nature and homeland protection inventories
• Projects in nature and landscape protection
• Budgeting, controlling, reporting, statistics
• Cross-departmental projects
