Childcare Specialist EFZ

1. Objective of the position The Childcare Specialist EFZ is responsible for the professional, loving, and age-appropriate care, accompaniment, and promotion of the entrusted children. They actively contribute to ensuring that the children at Kita Schlaufuchs feel safe, comfortable, and accepted and can develop according to their individual needs. 2. Main tasks Pedagogical care and promotion • Professional care and accompaniment of the children in everyday Kita life • Promotion of emotional, social, linguistic, motor, and cognitive development • Planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities, games, projects, and excursions • Observation of the individual development of the children and corresponding adjustment of the pedagogical offerings • Promotion of the independence and personal responsibility of the children • Support for the children in building social skills • Creation of an appreciative, safe, and child-friendly environment • Accompaniment of the settling-in processes of new children • Professional handling of separation, conflict, and transition situations Care and support • Taking over age-appropriate personal hygiene • Nappy changing and support with toilet training • Accompanying the children during meals as well as supporting the development of healthy eating behavior • Accompanying and monitoring rest and sleep times • Ensuring the individual needs of infants and toddlers are met • Compliance with hygiene, safety, and health regulations 3. Cooperation with parents • Professional and appreciative communication with parents and legal guardians • Conducting daily door and handover conversations • Passing on important information about the daily routine and the well-being of the child • Participation in or conduct of parent meetings in consultation with the Kita management • Maintaining confidentiality and data protection • Trustful cooperation with the families 4. Teamwork and organization • Active participation in the Kita team • Participation in team meetings, internal discussions, and further training • Support in daily and weekly planning • Independent handling of the tasks assigned to them • Passing on information within the team • Support of interns as well as employees in training after consultation • Participation in events, parent occasions, and Kita activities • Responsible handling of premises, play materials, and operating resources 5. Pedagogical documentation • Observation and documentation of the development of the children • Recording special occurrences and relevant observations • Support in the creation of individual promotion goals • Maintaining the necessary internal documentation according to the requirements of the Kita • Passing on relevant observations to the Kita management and the care team 6. Special responsibility Within the framework of their function, the Childcare Specialist EFZ assumes responsibility for a group of children and ensures that the legal, operational, and pedagogical requirements are met. They are particularly obliged to: • exercise the duty of supervision conscientiously at all times • identify and avoid dangers and risks for children at an early stage • report accidents, special events, or irregularities to the Kita management immediately • comply with the operational safety and emergency concepts • respect the personality, dignity, and integrity of every child 7. Requirements • Completed training as a Fachfrau/Fachmann Betreuung EFZ, specialization in children, or an equivalent training recognized in Switzerland • Joy and empathy in dealing with children • Sense of responsibility and reliability • Independent and structured way of working • Resilience and flexibility • Ability to work in a team and good communication skills • Professional and well-groomed appearance • Good German language skills in speaking and writing • Readiness for professional and personal further development • Unblemished reputation and the required criminal record extracts for childcare 8. Competencies The job holder is entitled, within the framework of the operational requirements, to: • plan and implement pedagogical activities independently • make decisions in everyday care routines within their own area of responsibility • suggest organizational improvements • immediately initiate necessary protective measures in case of hazards or safety risks • pass on concerns and observations directly to the Kita management 9. Expected basic attitude A professional, respectful, and appreciative attitude towards children, parents, employees, and external specialists is expected from the Childcare Specialist EFZ.
