Apprenticeship Laboratory Technician EFZ, specialty Chemistry (August 2027)

As a laboratory technician specializing in chemistry, you will research new compounds and develop innovative processes for plant protection products within a team. In the research and development laboratory, you will conduct experiments, the results of which you will verify using computer-aided methods and measuring devices.

During your three-year apprenticeship, you will rotate through various exciting departments such as Research & Development, Analytics, or Formulation. During this time, you will be guided step-by-step by experienced practical trainers.

As a future female or male laboratory technician, you will be closely involved in:

• Producing, separating, and purifying various chemical substances
• Calculating, weighing, and precisely mixing raw materials and preparations
• Working with modern glassware and computer-controlled high-tech devices
• Analyzing and investigating samples for their properties and purity
• Observing, monitoring, and accurately documenting your experimental processes
• Complying with and implementing important safety and environmental protection guidelines
• Higher requirement level of Sekundarschule or Bezirksschule, Mittlere Reife (D) or other higher school levels
• German as a native language or at C1 level as well as very good English skills
• Enthusiasm for scientific topics and their connections
• Sharp powers of observation combined with logical-analytical thinking
• Enjoyment of mathematics
• Manual dexterity as well as an exact and careful way of working
• Endurance and concentration
• High degree of reliability, independence, and sense of responsibility
• Great interest in modern laboratory technology and the application of digital tools
