Senior Oracle Database Engineer / Lead Engineer

• IT - Software Engineering • Bern • Contracting • Part-time, 80-100% • 01.09.2026 - 31.03.2027 • Oracle, AWS Your tasks: • Technical co-design and establishment of a new Oracle Database@AWS-/Exadata platform • Analysis of the existing OnPrem and Exadata Cloud@Customer landscape as well as derivation of the future target architecture • Engineering and introduction of the new Oracle database platform within a hybrid cloud environment • Planning and technical support of the migration of existing Oracle and ExaCC workloads towards Oracle Database@AWS • Assumption of a leading technical role in the migration of OnPrem databases to the cloud • Contribution of existing ExaCC experience to the conception of a future hybrid Oracle@AWS operating model • Development of technical architecture and solution concepts for complex Oracle database environments • Ensuring stable and sustainable operation during the introduction and migration phase • Technical coordination and cooperation with architecture, infrastructure, cloud, and operations teams • Support in the structured operational transfer of the new database platform   Your profile: • Several years of experience as a Senior Oracle Database Engineer, Database Specialist, or in a comparable function • Demonstrable experience as a Lead Engineer in complex Oracle database environments • Sound practical knowledge of Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) • Experience in the engineering and operation of OnPrem Oracle and Exadata platforms • Very good understanding of modern Oracle database architectures and complex enterprise environments • Experience with cloud transformations and the introduction of hybrid database platforms • Ideally practical experience with Oracle Database@AWS • Experience in the planning and implementation of Oracle database migrations from OnPrem to cloud environments • Sound understanding of the transfer of existing platforms into new operating and architecture models • Strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as an independent and solution-oriented way of working • Ability to make technical decisions and to coordinate complex topics with various stakeholders • Business fluent German skills in spoken and written form
