Shape the social assistance and professional guardianship of the social services of the Bezirk Affoltern am Albis with responsibility, expertise, and foresight

The Sozialdienst Bezirk Affoltern provides a wide range of services in the social sector on behalf of the eight member municipalities.

For our organization, we are looking for a committed and strong leadership personality as of 1 March 2027 or by arrangement.

Head of Economic Social Assistance and Professional Guardianship (80 - 100 %) ##

In this versatile leadership role, you will assume technical, personnel, and organizational responsibility for the areas of economic social assistance and professional guardianship. Together with your team, you will ensure that people in their various life situations are supported and accompanied professionally, lawfully, and respectfully.

Your tasks:

• Technical and personnel leadership of the team (around 12 people) of the economic social assistance and professional guardianship
• Responsibility for high-quality, law-compliant, and efficient fulfillment of tasks
• Ensuring uniform practice and further development of professional standards
• Responsibility for handling demanding case and leadership issues as well as supporting employees in complex situations
• Cooperation with the member municipalities, authorities, social services, institutions, and other specialist agencies
• Responsibility for budget, controlling, and administrative processes within the area of responsibility
• Initiation and implementation of projects for the further development of the specialist areas and social services
• Promotion of appreciative, solution-oriented, and interdisciplinary cooperation
• High communication and negotiation skills

What you bring with you

We are looking for a personality with:

• Completed studies in social work; ideally with corresponding further training at CAS/DAS/MAS level or leadership training
• Several years of professional experience in economic social assistance and professional guardianship
• Leadership experience and proven competence in personnel management
• Good knowledge of economic social assistance and adult protection law as well as the relevant legal foundations
• Decisive, resilient, and solution-oriented personality
• Communication skills, empathy, and a professional approach to different stakeholders
• Joy in taking responsibility, developing employees, and actively shaping change processes
