Electronics Technician

As a member of HES-SO Genève, the Haute école du paysage, d’ingénierie et d’architecture de Genève (hereinafter HEPIA) has approximately 350 employees, more than 1’100 students, 9 Bachelor training programs, 4 Master programs and 3 research institutes.
Within the electronics laboratory attached to the Microtechniques department, and under the responsibility of the department head, the position holder performs a specialized technical support function.
The main missions of the position holder will be to:
Management and logistics
Guarantee the proper functioning, maintenance and condition of the laboratory premises (workspaces, storage areas, student stations...) and the troubleshooting, monitoring and assembly of laboratory equipment
Manage electronic components (ordering, stock, budget monitoring)
Ensure the maintenance and monitoring of laboratory equipment
Guarantee the compliance of installations according to current standards for different audiences (electrical safety, fire protection)
Prepare descriptive quotes to be validated by the department head
Technical support and achievements within the framework of teaching and research activities
Provide technical assistance to students and teachers during the follow-up of semester work, diplomas and Master's work
Design and manufacture printed circuit boards using the laboratory's CAD tools (preference: Altium Designer)
Maintain CAD tools and associated libraries
Perform the assembly and testing of printed circuit boards
Design and manufacture simple mechanical parts related to projects (preference: CREO)
Transversal missions
Provide occasional technical support to other departments of the school
Participate in institutional activities (open houses, exhibitions)
Profile/Competencies:
ES Technician diploma in electronics or an equivalent title
At least 3 years of professional experience in industry
Mastery of a PCB design CAD tool, preferably Altium Designer
Mastery of a mechanical design CAD tool, preferably CREO
Flexibility, autonomy and organizational skills
Availability, interpersonal skills and ability to integrate into a team as well as to collaborate closely with the teaching staff and students
Particularity of the position:
Necessity to take holidays during student holidays and the slowdown of research activities
Demanding environment requiring flexibility and reactivity
