Your tasks

Supporting people

At the Belforterstrasse residential home, you will accompany adults with cognitive and physical disabilities and increased care needs. Many live with chronic, progressive illnesses and exhibit conspicuous behavior.

Medical care

You will ensure the physical well-being of the clients and take over their individual medical care. This includes, among other things, tube feeding, administering injections, wound care, and medication management.

Shaping everyday life

You will take on tasks such as basic care, household management, and organizing the spatially integrated daily structure. In addition, you will be responsible for administrative tasks, including maintaining the digital client file.

Developing perspectives

As a valuable member of an interdisciplinary team, you will work towards the individual needs of our clients. You will specifically promote their abilities, set development goals, and participate in the annual needs assessment.

Your profile

Experience

You are skilled in dealing with people with disabilities, ideally also with challenging behavior. Shift work and working on weekends and holidays are part of a responsible professional understanding for you.

Personality

You approach the clients with empathy, openness, and respect. Even in demanding care situations or emergencies, you remain calm, act sovereignly, and convey security.

Education

You have completed training as a health specialist EFZ or have equivalent qualifications.

Language

You have a secure command of the German language and communicate clearly, empathetically, and in a target-group-oriented manner.

LIV Leben in Vielfalt offers people with disabilities a home and a community tailored to their individual needs. We specialize in accompanying adults with complex cognitive disabilities - often in connection with an autism spectrum disorder (ASS). Our supported living groups and day structure offers are distributed across different districts in Basel. LIV is part of the cantonal administration of Basel-Stadt and an institution of the Office for Social Benefits in the Department of Economics, Social Affairs and Environment.
