The foundation supports the population of Bern through health promotion, prevention, sexual education as well as addiction counseling and therapy in German and French. On behalf of the Canton of Bern, over 100 employees work in 4 centers and at 13 locations throughout the Canton of Bern. The foundation is politically and confessionally independent.

We are looking for a

Head of Health Promotion, Prevention and Sexual Education (70%) ##

starting December 1, 2026, or by arrangement, at the Bern location.

Your tasks (Member of the Executive Board)

You are responsible for the area of Health Promotion, Prevention and Sexual Education with three directly subordinate regional managers and a total of 23 employees at the Bern and Biel locations. As a member of the Executive Board, you help shape the future of Berner Gesundheit and combine professional quality with entrepreneurial thinking.

• You lead your employees in a goal-oriented manner and with a participatory leadership understanding.
• You develop the service portfolio proactively, recognize new needs, and shape change processes.
• You are responsible for effective and economical service delivery as well as budget, resource planning, and controlling - both internally and towards clients.
• You participate in service contract negotiations, represent the department externally, and maintain cooperation and networking with the Canton, clients, and partner organizations.

Your profile

You are an experienced, reflective leader who inspires people, connects different interests, and makes clear decisions even in demanding situations. You combine strategic thinking with implementation strength and enjoy further developing socially relevant services.

• You have a university degree in a relevant subject area as well as qualified further training in leadership or management.
• You bring several years of leadership experience with personnel and organizational responsibility. You lead with appreciation and commitment and ideally know the environment of an NPO or publicly funded organization.
• You are familiar with the topics of health promotion, prevention and sexual education and can classify professional needs and developments based on sound knowledge.
• You work in a structured and solution-oriented manner, are familiar with business management control, and move confidently in the environment of politics and administration. Networking, sustainable partnerships, as well as service and market orientation are a matter of course for you.
• You communicate clearly and convincingly, build trust, and think beyond your own department. You carry our mission statement and our values with conviction.
• You have excellent German or French skills and master the respective other language very well in spoken and written form.
