Justizvollzug und Wiedereingliederung (JuWe) is, as part of the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs of the Canton of Zurich, responsible for the execution of sentences and measures as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1'400 employees, the successful social reintegration of convicted persons and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.

The Untersuchungsgefängnisse Zürich (UGZ) are one of eight main departments of JuWe, comprising seven facilities with around 700 prison places and about 500 employees. They are responsible for provisional arrest, investigative and security detention, as well as the early execution of sentences and measures until transfer to an execution facility. In doing so, they fulfill a central function within the Zurich justice system.

With immediate effect or by arrangement, we are looking for a committed and proactive personality to support our Head of Main Department with foresight, organizational skill, and energy.

What awaits you ###

• You work closely with the Director of UGZ and support her in driving, structuring, and implementing strategic and operational topics
• You actively help shape the establishment and further development of the UGZ staff and develop instruments and foundations that support effective leadership and cooperation
• You quickly familiarize yourself with complex issues, analyze different information, and condense it into clear decision-making bases, concepts, reports, and presentations
• You design and coordinate meetings, retreats, and management days, and ensure that concrete decisions and next steps emerge from discussions, which you actively accompany and drive forward in implementation
• You are a sparring partner for the Director and the staff, contribute your own perspectives, participate actively in projects, and contribute to the organizational and content-related further development of the UGZ

This is you ###

• You have completed a university degree (University or FH) and ideally bring experience from a complex organizational environment
• You can quickly grasp complex topics, recognize connections, and derive clear priorities and next steps from them
• You work independently and in a structured manner, take responsibility for your topics, and maintain an overview even when several things are running simultaneously
• You bring experience in organizational development and know that changes require not only good concepts but also a good sense for organizations and people
• You are familiar with project work. You can structure undertakings, bring different stakeholders together, and consistently drive topics forward
