Gardener

ROLE

Reporting to the Landscape Team Leader, the gardener ensures the daily maintenance of the green spaces and landscapes of the Prilly site (flower beds, shrubs, lawns, grass, urban furniture). He/she is primarily in the field and contributes directly to the aesthetic quality and safety of the site's exteriors.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

• Routine maintenance: mowing, trimming hedges and shrubs, weeding, watering, collecting leaves and green waste.
• Specialized pruning: autonomous execution of formative pruning, pruning, and rejuvenation pruning on various shrubs, perennials, and hedges, in compliance with seasonal cycles.
• Lawn and soil management: Diagnosis of lawn problems (moss, diseases, thatch) and execution of maintenance plans (scarification, fertilization, overseeding)
• Planting: installation and maintenance of flower beds and plants according to the plans defined by the Team Leader in agreement with the landscape contractor.
• Winter service: participation in snow removal and salting of the site's roads and paths.
• Equipment maintenance: safe use of machines and tools, daily technical maintenance (mowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, blowers, etc.).
• Efficient site organization: following the schedule and tidying equipment and returning a clean and secure site at the end of the day.
• Safety: strict respect for safety instructions, especially during work with machines or at height.

PROFILE

• Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in professional maintenance of gardens and green spaces.
• Plant knowledge: good mastery of plants, their maintenance and their specific needs, as well as the pruning of hedges and beds in different forms.
• Autonomy and rigor: ability to organize and perform maintenance tasks autonomously and rigorously.
• Driver's license.
• Taste for field work: "hands in the dirt" oriented profile, available for physical work outdoors all year round.
• Team spirit: good collaboration with other members of the landscape team and ease in following technical instructions. Ability to transmit know-how and to support less experienced collaborators.
• Working at height / chainsaw training: a valued asset: SUVA certificates "Working at height" (access to trees, wearing a fall-arrest harness) and/or "Chainsaw handling" are a plus for pruning work, pruning at height or maintenance of green roofs.
