To strengthen our team, we are looking for a committed Head of Aviation and Defense Industry / Secretary General SWISS ASD (100%) starting from January 2027.

Do you want to actively help shape the framework conditions for the aviation, security, and defense industry of Switzerland? Do you move confidently at the interface between industry, politics, army, aviation, and the public and know how to represent interests effectively and network people?

Your tasks

You actively help shape the political, regulatory, and economic framework conditions of the Swiss aviation, security, and defense industry. In doing so, you move at the interface between industry, administration, politics, army, and the public, represent the interests of the industry, and network people.

Representation and positioning of the interests of the member companies of the aviation, security, and defense industry towards politics, administration, army, media, public, and other stakeholders. Support and networking of member companies as well as needs-based further development of the activities of the industrial sector. Observation of political and regulatory developments as well as preparation and representation of industry positions. Building and maintaining a sustainable network in industry, politics, administration, army, and aviation. Representation of SWISS ASD in national and international committees and events. Leadership and further development of the industrial sector as Secretary General in close cooperation with the President, the management team, as well as other internal and external bodies. Collaboration in the Industrial Sectors team of Swissmem.

Your profile

For this demanding and high-profile function, we are looking for a personality who combines industry understanding, political intuition, communication strength, and a resilient network.

You possess:

A university degree or a comparable education. Several years of experience in the aviation, security, or defense industry. Experience in dealing with political decision-making processes and different stakeholders. Strong industry understanding as well as interest in technology, security, and industrial policy. Networking in the security and defense policy environment; experience in the Swiss Army is an advantage. Communication strength, political intuition, and a confident appearance towards corporate management, authorities, politics, and media. Very good German skills as well as good French and English skills.

You enjoy working independently, take responsibility, and at the same time see yourself as part of a strong team. You feel comfortable in an environment in which industry, security policy, technology, communication, and economic interests are closely interconnected.

You shape the positioning of a strategically important industry and actively help shape the development of the Swiss aviation, security, and defense industry. At the same time, as part of the Industrial Sectors team, you contribute to the work of Swissmem as a whole.
