Their installed capacity corresponds to approximately 22% of the capacity available from hydropower in Switzerland (25% including the pumping stations). Mechanical Engineer (IWE/IWT) with a focus on welding technology

Your mission :

In the mechanical area, you will participate in study, maintenance, and repair projects for hydroelectric plants and their technical facilities. In doing so, you will work in the specialist areas of mechanical engineering and welding technology. In close cooperation with the other engineers as well as our workshops in Martigny, you will contribute your technical expertise to support specialized maintenance work and to develop practice-oriented solutions for the requirements of operation.

Your tasks :

• Technical support for the maintenance managers in the various hydroelectric plants
• Development and implementation of technical solutions as part of large rehabilitation projects for hydroelectric plants in cooperation with the various technical units
• Budgeting of the work to be carried out, preparation of offers, as well as technical support for sales
• Management of projects in compliance with cost, schedule, and quality specifications
• Organization and coordination of assignments of external suppliers as well as internal teams (welders, inspectors) in close cooperation with the maintenance managers of the various locations
• Updating and maintaining the technical documentation of the hydroelectric plants based on study and final reports
• Execution and monitoring of production monitoring as well as component acceptances at suppliers and in our own workshops
• Participation in the coordination of welding work in our workshops in Martigny (DMOS/QMOS/QS) as well as at the operational sites
• Analysis and examination of the technical documentation of the suppliers, especially the welding documentation

Your competencies :

• Dipl. Engineer ETH or FH in the field of mechanical engineering (or equivalent)
• IWE or IWT certification
• At least 5 years of professional experience in industry; at least 3 years of experience in the field of hydropower is an advantage
• Experience in the field of welding technology (creation of DMOS/WPS, verification of welding instructions, design of welding-compliant constructions, production control and execution of inspections)
• Knowledge and/or certifications in the field of non-destructive testing (NDT), e.g., according to COFREND, are an advantage
• Strong organizational talent and the ability to coordinate several projects and tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work independently, analytical thinking, as well as strong competence to structure and summarize complex issues
• Good editorial skills in the field of technical documentation
• Native language French or German; good knowledge of the respective other language is an advantage
• Interest in working on-site and willingness for regular day trips to our various hydroelectric power plants (up to 30% of working time)
