Ref 2581484 | Date: 28 Sept 2026 villege-mhn (disinfestation project of the collections of the Museum d'histoire naturelle de Genève) The Muséum d'histoire naturelle de la Ville de Genève (MHN) is one of the main scientific and cultural institutions in Switzerland. It ensures missions of research, conservation, mediation, and promotion of natural heritage. A vast project for the safeguarding of collections was validated in June 2026 in addition to ongoing projects concerning important infrastructure work and a new museography. In this context, the Museum wishes to strengthen its team for the preservation of collections in these premises and at an external site, and is looking for a CONSERVATOR - RESTORER (auxiliary position at 100%)

Your mission and your responsibilities

• Coordinate the treatment of collections involved in the gallery disinfestation project, the external storage facility, and the planning of moves.
• Ensure the follow-up of the location of the collections.
• Ensure the follow-up of the restoration of the collections involved in the project and their reinstallation in the gallery.
• Provide expertise in conservation-restoration throughout the project.

Your profile

• Possess a university-level education (master's or equivalent) in the field of conservation-restoration of natural history collections or in a field deemed equivalent.
• Possess significant professional experience in managing collection relocation and treatment projects. Knowledge of the Horus software will be considered an asset.
• Demonstrate a keen sense of organization, an ability to plan, prioritize, and coordinate work involving multiple actors and interdisciplinary skills.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and confirmed abilities to work in a team.
• Demonstrate autonomy, rigor, and reliability.
