The Interkantonale Labor (IKL) is a public law institution of the three partner cantons Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Appenzell Innerrhoden and Schaffhausen. It is responsible in the partner cantons for the enforcement of food and chemical law and in the canton of Schaffhausen also for the enforcement of environmental protection and water protection law.

As of 1 March 2027, we are looking for a

Head of Department Urban Drainage, Water Protection On-call (m/f), 80 %

What to expect

Co-design and further development of urban drainage in the canton of Schaffhausen taking climate change into account
Management of projects in the field of climate-adapted urban drainage
Review and support of the implementation of the General Drainage Planning (GEP) of the municipalities and wastewater associations
Close cooperation with the municipalities as well as exchange with specialists from other cantons
Management and member of the chemical and water protection on-call service

What you bring with you

Completed studies in a technical or scientific direction (university or university of applied sciences, field of environmental or engineering)
Knowledge in the field of urban drainage or the willingness to undergo further training in this direction
Independent way of working as well as a motivated personality with a positive and open manner
High social competence as well as very good oral and written expression
Driving license Cat. B
Experience in the chemical and water protection on-call service or damage service is an advantage
