Head of Experimental Station for Horticulture (Technical-Scientific Collaborator)

The contribution you can make • Direct the experimental station from a specialist, organizational, administrative and personnel perspective • Operate at the interface between horticultural practice, consulting and practice-oriented research • Plan, conduct and evaluate open-field horticulture experiments defined together with partners, in close collaboration with Agroscope researchers and the involved agricultural companies • Collect and process experimental parameters, as well as perform statistical analysis of experimental data • Draft practice-oriented scientific articles, hold presentations for an expert audience, serve as a representative of the experimental station to the public What distinguishes you • Bachelor (BSc) or Master (MSc) degree in Agronomy from a university or university of applied sciences, or equivalent education • Practical experience in horticulture or productive horticulture; management experience is a preferred qualification • Strong autonomy and flexibility, good assertiveness skills • Organizational skills and excellent communication abilities • Good knowledge of two official languages and English In summary • The Ins Experimental Station for Horticulture develops practical solutions for the multiple challenges in the horticulture sector, in collaboration with its partners. • Experiments are conducted both on owned land and on external vegetable producers' land (on-farm), in order to take into account the specific needs of the sector and strengthen the link with practice. • As head of the experimental station, you will lead a small team of two people. For this position, we are looking for a communicative and entrepreneurial person, able to recognize and seize opportunities and interested in developing new solutions in close collaboration with various partners.
